HYDRINITY™, a cosmeceutical skincare brand, needed a full-page magazine advertisement that could visually explain the science behind their dual-weight hyaluronic acid formulation, a mechanism typically communicated in clinical or dermatological literature, reframed here for a consumer audience.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a glycosaminoglycan naturally present in the skin that plays a central role in hydration, tissue lubrication, and extracellular matrix structure. HYDRINITY’s formulation uses a dual-weight approach: high molecular weight (HMW) HA, which is too large to penetrate the skin surface, forms a protective moisture barrier that reduces transepidermal water loss and visibly reduces fine lines; and low molecular weight (LMW) HA, which penetrates into the dermal layer, triggers fibroblast activity, and supports the production of new collagen and elastin fibres. The formulation also incorporates PPM6 technology (a combination of six plant-derived peptides and antioxidants including Kakadu plum, ginger root extract, algae extract, hexapeptide leaf extract, squalane, and bisabolol) which inhibits progerin production and neutralises free radicals to support the skin repair process.

Communicating this mechanism to a consumer audience required scientific accuracy to substantiate product claims, combined with visual atmosphere and aesthetic quality to function as advertising in a competitive skincare market.

Our Solution
Kryski Biomedia produced a multi-panel MOA-style illustration depicting the full mechanism across skin layers, from epidermis surface to dermis, showing the molecular weight differentiation of the HA chains and their respective penetration depths, the cellular environment of aging skin with degraded collagen and elastin fibres, and the renewed skin state following treatment with restored fibre architecture.

The illustration also visualised the PPM6 ingredient system and the comparative molecular structure of standard HA versus HYDRINITY’s proprietary long-chain HA. Each panel was developed to carry scientific information clearly while being composed and styled for consumer engagement in a full-page print and digital advertising format.

Brand colour palette and visual identity standards were applied throughout. The work was delivered in digital format ready for magazine publication.

As the science behind skincare formulations becomes more sophisticated, the need for accurate visual communication of those mechanisms grows. Consumers, retailers, and media increasingly scrutinise product claims — and illustrations that accurately depict the claimed mechanism at the cellular or molecular level are both a communication tool and a credibility signal.
