Project Description
A publishing surgeon required an illustration to accompany a research article on functional impairments following mastectomy — depicting the physical consequences of post-surgical changes with both anatomical accuracy and sensitivity to patient experience.
This type of illustration requires a careful balance: clinical precision for a specialist readership, combined with a representation that does not reduce the patient to an anatomical diagram. Both dimensions informed the approach.
