A pharmaceutical patient support program needed a printed resource guide to walk newly enrolled patients through every stage of their treatment journey: from completing an enrollment form to connecting with a dedicated Patient Access Liaison (PAL), navigating specialty pharmacy and insurance processes, accessing financial assistance, and finding educational and community resources.

Patient support programs in the pharmaceutical industry play a critical role in treatment adherence and patient outcomes. For patients managing a serious or rare condition, the healthcare system can feel overwhelming at precisely the moment they are least equipped to deal with it. Insurance requirements, specialty pharmacy channels, prior authorization processes, multiple care team touchpoints: the complexity is real, and it lands at the worst possible time. A well-designed patient resource guide organizes that information into a clear, accessible reference patients can return to throughout their treatment.

The guide needed to feel approachable and clear to patients managing health anxiety alongside practical logistical challenges. Dense program information had to be genuinely readable and visually engaging: something a patient would actually keep and use.

Our Solution
Kryski Biomedia designed and illustrated the complete guide. The organizing structure was a roadmap visual metaphor representing the patient journey as a clear sequential path from enrollment to ongoing program access. The roadmap gave patients a way to locate themselves in the process at any point and understand what comes next.

Custom portrait illustrations of a diverse healthcare team were developed to give the guide a human, relatable quality: care coordinators and Patient Access Liaisons. Each team member was depicted consistently throughout the guide, so patients could recognize a familiar face as each role was explained.

Infographic-style page layouts organized complex program information into clearly labeled sections patients can scan and reference without reading linearly: insurance navigation, financial assistance options, educational resources, community programs. The guide was produced across multiple formats including a trifold brochure and a full-spread layout, with all artwork and layout files delivered print-ready in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Illustration and design for pharmaceutical patient support
The quality of a patient support program’s printed materials reflects directly on the company that produces them. Materials that feel generic, confusing, or impersonal undermine patient confidence at exactly the moment when confidence in the program is essential.

Custom illustration, developed for the specific patient community the program serves, creates something stock photography cannot. No stock image shows a Patient Access Liaison explaining a prior authorization process. No stock image shows the exact healthcare team a patient will meet. Custom illustration shows precisely what the guide needs to show, built from the real people and real steps of the program itself.

Kryski Biomedia has experience producing patient-facing materials for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies across therapeutic areas, combining scientific accuracy with design quality and production rigor.
